The Southern Nevada chapter was established on July 25th, 1997.  Organized to serve as a medium in the solution of professional issues pertaining to plumbing engineering as it affects the community and the general public.  To advance the general scientific interests of plumbing engineering profession and inculcate the desire for scientific achievement in the field among the members of the Chapter; to bring about greater cooperation and understanding between the members of the Chapter,local plumbing officials, contractors and most important, the public. Today the Plumbing Engineer is responsible for much more than the supply of potable water and the removal and treatment of sanitary and industrial wastes. The field is challenging and varied, including everything from aeration ponds to zinc plating. Systems such as high purity water, medical vacuum and air, oxygen, helium, ethylene, nitrous oxide, nitrogen, acidic waste collection and neutralization, display of fountains and swimming pools, provisions of fuel gases, laboratory gases, storm water, compressed air and fire suppression systems.

Plumbing Engineers assist in determining the scope of a project and its anticipated cost. They design many and varied plumbing systems, select suitable equipment, write specifications, evaluate products to find the most suitable and cost effective equipment for the project, aid in contractor selection, installation inspections, troubleshoot existing systems and provide services to the owner before, during and after construction. The Plumbing Engineer is a primary and indispensable part of the design and construction team.

The Southern Nevada Chapter of The American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) invites Engineers, Designers, Contractors, Plumbing Code Officials, Manufacturing and Sales Representatives to become an important part of our chapter and be involved in our by sharing their expertise and wisdom with other members in the industry to enhance the design, fabrication and construction of plumbing systems for the new millennium to protect the health and the ecological system of the world.
